Jewellery Care
Thoughtful care helps preserve the finish, shine and delicate details of your Lyastone jewellery. Materials vary between pieces, so always check the product description first and use the gentlest suitable method.
Before wearing
- Apply perfume, hairspray, lotion and sunscreen before putting on jewellery, then allow them to dry fully.
- Remove jewellery before showering, swimming, exercising, sleeping or using household cleaning products.
- Avoid prolonged contact with water, salt, chlorine, sweat and harsh chemicals.
After each wear
- Wipe the piece gently with a clean, soft and dry cloth.
- Make sure it is completely dry before storing it.
- Fasten chains and store pieces separately to reduce tangling, scratching and friction.
Care by material
Gold-plated and silver-tone pieces: use a soft dry cloth with light pressure. Do not use abrasive polishing compounds, silver dip, toothpaste or baking soda, as these can wear the finish.
925 sterling silver: gently use a clean silver-polishing cloth on plain sterling-silver areas. Avoid rubbing plated sections, pearls, shell, stones or intentionally oxidised details.
Pearls, mother-of-pearl and natural stones: wipe gently with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry immediately. Do not soak them or place them in an ultrasonic cleaner.
Crystal and zircon details: use a soft dry cloth and avoid chemical cleaners. Take care around claws, settings and fine chains.
Storage
Keep jewellery in its Lyastone pouch or box, away from direct sunlight, humidity and heat. Store each piece separately whenever possible.
